Ziff Davis Acquires Computer Shopper
I had to do a double-take on this one, just to make sure I wasn’t reading an article from 1993.
Founded in 1979, Computer Shopper was a Ziff Davis property from 1993-2001 when it was sold to CNET. SX2 Media Labs, which purchased Computer Shopper from CNET in 2006, is now selling it back to Ziff Davis.
Incidentally, Ziff Davis (specifically Computer Shopper) was the first publisher I worked for as an advertising sales account executive.
EVEN PLANTS NEED A VACATION:
The Hammer invites you to give your houseplant a vacation during our August Cultural Retreat for Plants. Throughout the entire month participants plants will be installed in the light flooded linbrook terrace, and presented with a series of readings, performances and musical events for plants. Plant portraiture provided by Lisa Anne Auerbach.
The drop off date will be July 31, and the pick-up will be on August 29. Please e-mail machine@machineproject.com with the subject line ‘PLANT VACATION’ to tell us if you are interested in giving your plant a westside vacation.
